The National Police Service Commission has announced vacancies to fill three top vacant positions in the police service. The positions advertised are those of Deputy Inspector General in charge of Kenya Police Service, Deputy Inspector General in charge of Administration Police Service and the Director of Criminal Investigations. The advert by the Johnston Kavuludi led commission comes after the President dropped Joel Kitili for Edward Njoroge Mbugua as the Acting Deputy Inspector General in charge of Kenya Police. Noor Yarao Gabao took over as the Deputy IG in charge of Administration Police Service, a position previously held by Samuel Arachi. Former National Police Spokesman George Maingi Kinoti was appointed to take over as the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI). All the officers were appointed in acting capacities and have since assumed office.
