Oil and gas exploration is expected to kick off in Kajiado’s Inkokirdinga village on Friday, following the chance discovery of gas last week. A senior Geothermal Development officer made the announcement today saying they had finished analyzing the gas sample collected from a borehole at a farm in Kipeto plateau. The analysis revealed the pure methane gas has a concentration level of 20 per cent. The geochemist said mapping will determine the capacity of the reservoir at the point the borehole drillers accidentally discovered the gas. He added engineers will also seek to establish the volume of the resource before calling in more companies that explore oil and gas.
