Rugby sevens wins against Canada

National Rugby sevens team today started the 2017/2018 IRB sevens season on a high note beating Canada 29-15 this morning in their first match of the Dubai sevens championship.Collins Injera scored a brace while Sammy Oliech, Dennis Ombachi and skipper Oscar Ayodi had one each. Two of the Kenyan tries were converted while the Canadians touched down thrice with none of them converted. The team coached by Innocent Simiyu will face South Africa in their second match this afternoon before wrapping up their group games against neighbors’ Ugandan the evening. The team needs to win at least two group matches so as to book a place in the main cup quarter finals. During the 2016 season, Kenya finished in the 12th position overall with 63 points. Kenya will be using the series to prepare for the 2018 Rugby Sevens World Cup that slated for San Francisco, USA.
