SOYA awards receives financial boost of 2.5 million

The 14th edition of Kenya Sports Personality of the year; SOYA awards has received a financial boost of 2.5 million shillings from its partners. The awards gala will be held on 17th January next year at Kenyatta International Conventional Centre, (KICC). After the end of the 2017 busy season that saw Kenya host the IAAF under 18 championship, Gor Mahia win the Sportpesa Premier League and Kenya dominate the World cross country championship in Kampala, Uganda, athletes in different sporting activities will be feted during the Sports Personality of the year awards. This year’s edition will be the 14th time to be held. The panel has received sponsorship worth one million shillings from Communication Authority of Kenya and other 1.5million shillings from National Social Security Fund, (NSSF).  Earlier this year during the 13th edition of the awards, Vivian Cheruiyot  was named the Sports Personality of the year and walked away with one million shillings.
